Stop Elon musk
To: Gov. Ferguson
From: A constituent in Kennewick, WA
February 4, 2025
The rapid expansion of Elon Musk's Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) raises significant concerns about overreach, lack of oversight, and potential misuse of sensitive government data and systems. DOGE's reported access to the Treasury Department's payment processing systems and classified information at USAID, coupled with Musk's combative stance against regulators and unsubstantiated claims of illegality, is alarming. Allowing an unelected private individual such broad control over core government functions undermines democratic principles and the rule of law. I urge immediate action to halt DOGE's activities until proper legal and ethical review processes are in place to safeguard citizens' privacy, governmental integrity, and national security interests. Unchecked authority concentrated in the hands of a single private actor poses an unacceptable risk.
