The Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) plays a critical role in protecting workers' health and safety across various industries. Repealing the Occupational Safety and Health Act of 1970, as proposed in H.R. 86, would leave millions of American workers vulnerable to hazardous working conditions and preventable injuries or illnesses. Numerous studies have demonstrated the positive impact of OSHA regulations in reducing workplace accidents, fatalities, and occupational diseases. Abolishing OSHA would undermine decades of progress made in safeguarding employees' well-being and impose substantial costs on individuals, families, businesses, and the broader economy. I strongly urge you to uphold workers' rights and oppose this misguided legislation that jeopardizes the safety and lives of the American workforce.
