An Open Letter

To: Rep. Clere, Sen. Garten, Gov. Braun

From: A constituent in New Albany, IN

January 23

Vote against House Bill 1231 The Ten Commandments is a Christian item that has no place in our public schools. If private, religious schools choose to display them, then that’s absolutely appropriate. Public schools have children from all backgrounds and to force any religion teachings or displays in public schools is wrong. I doubt you would support Islam, Jewish, Hindu, or any other religion’s information being mandated in all classrooms. Do not assume everyone is religious or Christian. Please do not pass this bill.
