An Open Letter

I am beyond disappointed and appalled that both of my Republican Senators have not spoken out against the war that Trump started with Iran. Congress, and Congress alone, declare war. It is in our Constitution that one person cannot declare war, it takes an entire Congress to do so. Trump is taking away your powers and you are allowing him to. Trump claims that Iran is a threat because of nuclear weapons. Iran is not a threat to our country. And if they were a threat because of nuclear weapons, that is Trump's fault. Perhaps you need a history reminder. Obama made a nuclear deal with Iran called The joint Comprehensive Plan of Action in 2015. This plan was designed to halt Iran's nuclear capabilities in exchange for lifting International sanctions. In 2018, during his first term, Trump basically ripped up this nuclear deal with Iran and created what has now become a war. So, in typical Trump fashion, Trump takes something that is working, destroys it, creates a disaster, then he will step away when he sees he is losing and say he solved the problem. And the other part, Trump began this war in his house in Mar-A-Largo. He was not in Washington DC. He did not brief Congress. He did not brief the American people. This is another example of Trump's alternate reality where he doesn't think about anyone but himself and what he wants. So now Trump has started a war that he has no end game for. He has no plan. Innocent people will die, members of our armed forces will die, and our entire nation will suffer. And of course, Trump will justify this war by blaming Joe Biden and Barack Obama. But the only ones to blame for this war are the Republicans in Congress who are nothing but a bunch of spineless cowards who refuse to do their jobs, and an unhinged, madman in the White House who was desperate to get the attention off of the Epstein files and the terrible economy and his horrific poll numbers. This unjustified war will not end well for the Trump Administration. The Epstein scandal will not go away. The American people are not happy that our money is going to fund an unnecessary, unjustified war instead of funding our health insurance and our housing crisis and the price of groceries and the price of electricity and the cost of daily living. Shame on you Senators. Your job is to provide checks and balances on the executive branch and to represent what is best for our country as a whole. I promise you when I say this war will not help the Trump Administration or any Republican legislators. And this war will not make the Epstein files and Trump's part in it go away. Trump truly believes Congress does not matter. And you are allowing him to believe that. So unless you step it up and impeach Trump, because starting this war is yet another impeachable offense to add to his growing list of impeachable offenses, then you may as well stay at home because you sure as heck aren't doing your jobs.
