No war! Protect our checks and balances!

To: Rep. Ciscomani

From: A constituent in Tucson, AZ

June 23

It’s is absolutely wild to me that you are comfortable expressing your support for Trump’s bombing of Iran without even mentioning the egregious abuse of power it was to make that decision without the review and approval of Congress, as outlined in our Constitution. Whether the move was warranted or not is not the issue here, it is the impeachable offense of doing so without congressional support. Of BOMBING A NATION and entering the US into war as only a dictator could- by himself. No member of the House or Senate should EVER feel good about this, as it means 1) you are effectively out of a job and useless to the people you represent, and 2) that the system of checks and balances keeping us from an autocracy is GONE. We are in terrifying times. Your constituents are scared and upset. You cannot and should not support any moves, large or small, which threaten our democracy and make life more tenuous for the citizens you represent. I am appalled.
