Subject: The Supreme Court’s Legacy of Enabling Dictatorship

To: Justices Court

From: A verified voter in Atoka, TN

March 13

Dear Justices of the Supreme Court, Shame on you. The highest court in the land—the last line of defense for democracy—has become a tool for authoritarianism. Your decision to grant a president near-total immunity is not just legally indefensible; it is historically catastrophic. You have opened the door for tyranny, giving a would-be dictator the green light to dismantle American democracy from within. Was this your intention? Did you not see what was coming, or did you not care? This was always his plan. Trump has spent years testing the limits of our institutions, corrupting every branch of government, and stacking the courts with loyalists willing to do his bidding. And now, thanks to your ruling, he is untouchable. He can order assassinations, jail political opponents, and use the military against civilians—all without consequence. This is not democracy. This is a dictatorship. Do you really want us to live like Germany during World War II? Have you forgotten how history judges those who enable fascism? With this ruling, you have declared that the president is above the law and that he is no longer a servant of the people but a ruler with unchecked power. This is not what the framers intended. This is what Putin, Hitler, and every authoritarian throughout history have dreamed of—a judiciary that legitimizes their power grabs. Your legacy will be one of disgrace. You are now complicit in the destruction of American democracy. The suffering of the people, the loss of rights, the violence that will inevitably follow—this is on you. You had a choice. You could have upheld the rule of law. Instead, you bent the knee to a man who has no respect for the Constitution, for democracy, or for basic human decency. Remember Nuremberg. "I was just following orders" was not an excuse then, and it will not be an excuse now. Your decision will be remembered not as a defense of justice but as the moment the Supreme Court failed the American people. But history is not finished with you yet. You still have time to stand against authoritarianism. The question is: Will you? Sincerely,
A Citizen Who Will Never Forget
