An Open Letter

To: Sen. Cassidy

From: A constituent in New Orleans, LA

January 27

With regard to the upcoming budget resolution, I urge you to separate the DHS funding from the others so that it can be voted on as a stand-alone bill. As you have indicated, the American public deserves transparency. I further urge you to vote no on further funding for DHS at this time. The agency has not demonstrated its ability to properly deal with criminal immigrants as opposed to noncriminal ones, much less its ability to abide by the United States Constitution. It is kidnapping innocents and detaining little children. It is murdering U.S. citizens and then lying in the face of indisputable video evidence. Finally as you have already called for an investigation into the shooting of Mr. Pretti, I urge you to include an investigation into the shooting of Ms. Good, and to support the impeachment of Ms. Noem. I will consider voting for you if you stand up to this Administration. If you do not take appropriate action, I see no difference between you and your Republican opponent and won't care which of you wins.
