I am writing to express my utter dismay regarding our current Attorney General and Secretary of State, and their attempts to subvert the rule of law. Their wanton disregard for the supreme judiciaries at the state and federal level is reckless and damaging. As a constituent, I ask that you bring forth, or support, formal censure of both following recent events pertaining to redistricting. If they persist, they should be impeached without hesitation or delay. Governor Kehoe, while you have no role in the legislature’s responsibility here, you should, as our state’s highest executive official, pressure them to back down. It would be better for them to resign. As the highest ranking GOP official in the state, I’d ask that you lead by publicly condemning their actions. It’s not about the redistricting maps in my mind, it’s about ignoring and subverting the judiciary audacity. At the very least, one must surely recognize, regardless of party affiliation, that their actions reflect poorly on our state on both the national and world stage. I believe their actions have sorely damaged more than mere reputation, eroding the system of checks and balances that already seem to be under steady autocratic offensives. It’s a matter of duty and personal honor.
