Your inaction is showing - do something!!
To: Sen. Klobuchar, Sen. Smith

Hey ladies - real person to real person, Minnesotan to Minnesotan: you need to do something. I don’t know what, but I am scared to leave the house. I’m a citizen. I have an active passport. I am scared to go outside lest I be accosted or killed by ice agents. This is not a functioning democracy - this is what it must have felt like to be a free black person when slavery was legal. This is no way to run a country.
To be clear, I don’t want you to tour restaurants or hold press conferences. I want you to do the extreme - join a protest, get arrested, engage in an altercation with ice, save ONE person from having their life, family, and safety ripped away.
I don’t approve of my tax dollars being used to assault, injure, and deport my neighbors. I want to feed the hungry, heal the sick, and care for the wounded - the tasks undertaken by a functioning society.
Do something. I am begging you. Something.
