This proposed bill from Representative Nancy Mace targeting transgender individuals like Sarah McBride is discriminatory and harmful. Transgender Americans deserve the same dignity, respect, and access as everyone else. Denying them the ability to use restrooms that align with their gender identity promotes an environment of intolerance. This measure is a transparent attack on the civil rights of a marginalized group for political gain. As a representative body, Congress should be upholding equality and inclusion for all Americans, not singling out vulnerable communities. I urge you to reject this divisive legislation that undermines basic human rights. Transgender individuals are serving with honor and making positive contributions in workplaces nationwide - there is no justification for this discriminatory policy on Capitol Hill. Please stand against bigotry and vote no on this misguided bill that would legitimize discrimination. We need leaders who bring people together, not push them apart based on who they are.
