Congratulations on your re-election! My hope is that it becomes an enormous inflection point for the country. In order for it to have the impact it should, we need to make sure that Republicans can never be able to abuse their power again. The last 2 years have been a disgrace, with a secret police force kidnapping innocent people and sending them to concentration camps, inexplicable wars against random countries that result in higher prices for everyone, a new FDA food recall seemingly every day because national food inspection has been gutted, an all-out embrace of Generative AI in a way that seeks to consolidate power, put people out of jobs, guzzle resources, and destroy the environment... the list goes on. We can't let this happen again. And we need to be sure that Democratic House leadership understands this. Yesterday, current House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries claimed that "American people don't want us to get even, they want us to get things done." No, we can only get things done BY getting even. This isn't a time for moving on, nor is it a time to reach across the aisle. It's a time to destroy the machinery that permitted the last two years to happen, from a crooked Supreme Court to a President that ignores Congress to an unelected billionaire shredding government agencies. This means investigations, hearings, trials, and yes, impeachment. We don't want reconcilation. We want the weeds of American fascism pulled out of the ground and the earth salted so they may never grow again. Leader Jeffries, along with Senate Minorty Leader Chuck Schumer, have proven that either unwilling or incapable of taking an adverserial relationship with Republicans, regardless of the number of human rights abuses they tally or civil rights they shatter. Both need to either completely reshape their approach to politics, or resign their leadership posts. If they do not, then regardless of what happens in 2028, America will be set up for another regression into American fascism by 2032. We can't let this happen. Please put pressure on Leader Jeffries to either force consequences onto Republicans who have violated the Constitution, or step back and allow someone else to do it.
