URGENT! Protect Church-State Separation – Stop the Religious “Liberty” Commission On May 1, 2025, Donald Trump signed an executive order creating the so-called *Religious Liberty Commission*, chaired by Texas Lt. Gov. Dan Patrick and stacked with Christian nationalist figures like Franklin Graham, Ben Carson, and even Dr. Phil. Don’t be fooled—this isn’t about protecting faith. It’s about *control*. The Commission's stated goal of identifying "threats" to religious liberty is a thinly veiled attempt to erode LGBTQ+ rights, attack reproductive freedom, and inject a narrow religious agenda into public schools and federal policy. This is a clear violation of the First Amendment’s establishment clause and an authoritarian move to institutionalize political Christianity. We demand our elected officials: * Publicly denounce the Religious Liberty Commission * Reject any policy recommendations that emerge from it * Support legislation that upholds true religious freedom for *all* faiths and secular individuals * Reinforce the separation of church and state Religious liberty must include freedom *from* religious imposition.
