I am begging you to reject Robert F Kennedy Jr's nomination as Secretary of Health and Human Services. I beg you to think about your constituents and the well being of all Americans. Robert F Kennedy Jr lacks any credible experience in health care or medicine, he has vowed to gut staff and funding of federal health agencies responsible for protecting public health. If you have noticed an increase in number of recalled foods due to bacteria and other contaminants, we should be so lucky as to have an agency that protects public health. Without a well-resourced FDA, we'll have many people and particularly children get sick or even die from consuming food that is not safe to eat. He also has a long record of spreading baseless conspiracy theories (such as a link between vaccines and autism) and has promoted discredited COVID-19 treatments. In 2019 he visited Samoa and spread misinformation about the safety of measles vaccines, which caused the vaccination rates to plummet from 60% to 31%, resulting in a measles outbreak that killed 83 people, most of them children under 5. This is not the kind of person who should be leading HHS or have any position in our government. We shouldn't accept anything less than qualified leadership that prioritizes science, protection of public health, and well-being of all Americans. Please vote No on Robert F Kennedy Jr. We must not make getting sick and dying in huge numbers great again.
