First, I’m glad you are well enough to return to duty. Things have been very bad during your absence. I can only hope your time of illness and the demands of recovery give you a different view of the policies of this administration and the loss our citizens face when health care is not accessible. Let alone the loss of jobs when they must be out of work to treat their conditions and recover. That said, another very difficult fact is that the planet is in crisis. We’re breaking heat records all over the world. People are dying. Researchers say this heat wave would have been “virtually impossible” 50 years ago without climate change. But Republicans are busy stripping evidence of climate change from our textbooks and paying energy companies hundreds of millions of dollars to STOP already planned clean energy projects. It’s unacceptable. Congress needs to take action to speed the clean energy transition and block fossil fuel projects. I know you know that climate science and the consequences of our disregard for our planet are real. Please Stand Up for Earth and all its inhabitants.
