Hold Blanche Accountable — You Failed Epstein's Survivors
To: Sen. Lee, Sen. Curtis
From: A constituent in Layton, UT
August 9
You had a chance to stand with Epstein's survivors. They met with Todd Blanche, came away calling him "abrasive, condescending, and intentionally noncommittal," and begged the Senate to block his confirmation. You voted yes anyway.
This isn't just about Blanche's past as Trump's personal criminal defense attorney — though that alone should disqualify him from leading the Justice Department. Under his watch, DOJ charged James Comey over a photo of seashells, went after the Southern Poverty Law Center, and opened a retaliatory investigation into E. Jean Carroll. Federal judges have repeatedly flagged this administration for defying court orders and misrepresenting facts. That's the department you just handed him.
Survivors showed up. They told you exactly who Blanche is. You chose Trump over them. I expect you to use every available oversight tool to scrutinize Blanche's conduct as attorney general — and to answer publicly for this vote.
