Today’s Supreme Court decision in Trump v. CASA is a flashing red warning sign. By gutting the ability of lower courts to issue nationwide injunctions, this ruling gives authoritarian executive actions—like Trump’s birthright citizenship order—a green light to move forward unchecked in many parts of the country. This is not a procedural technicality. This is a judicial muzzle. It means Trump’s blatantly unconstitutional attempt to strip citizenship from children born on U.S. soil can now be partially enforced—even before its legality is decided. It creates a patchwork of rights where constitutional protections are granted or denied based on ZIP code. Enough with the polite press releases and cautious soundbites. Fight back now. Use every legal, legislative, and procedural tool available to block implementation of EO 14160. Introduce emergency legislation. Mobilize constitutional scholars. Pressure DOJ to act. Demand that Democratic leaders stop treating this like business as usual. This is an assault on the very core of the 14th Amendment. If this ruling is allowed to stand without resistance, it will open the door to further erosion of civil liberties by executive fiat. You are elected to defend the Constitution. Act like it.
