Demand Immediate Investigation into Trump’s Crypto Gala and Abuse of Presidential Office Dear Members of Congress, I am writing to demand an immediate investigation and public accountability for the events surrounding Donald Trump’s recent $TRUMP meme coin gala and the subsequent White House visit by its top investors. According to multiple credible reports (ABC News, CNBC, WIRED), Donald Trump hosted a black-tie event at his Virginia golf club on May 23, 2025, attended by approximately 200 cryptocurrency investors — including foreign nationals — who were awarded access based on how much they invested in a Trump-themed meme coin. At least $148 million has been raised from this cryptocurrency scheme, with proceeds reportedly flowing directly into Trump family accounts. Despite White House Press Secretary Karoline Leavitt claiming this was a “personal event” and not official business, the top 25 investors were escorted to a private event at the White House the following day — a clear abuse of public trust and property. Trump himself arrived at the gala via Marine One, delivered remarks at a lectern bearing the Presidential Seal, and was surrounded by U.S. flags — further eroding any distinction between personal profit and presidential authority. Meanwhile, the top investor in $TRUMP, Chinese-born crypto mogul Justin Sun, currently faces SEC fraud charges — which were recently paused, with the agency citing “public interest.” Sun holds over $22 million in the Trump token and another $75 million in a DeFi platform linked to Trump’s family. This is not just unethical — it may be criminal. The use of taxpayer-funded resources, government property, and the symbolic power of the presidency to enrich oneself and court wealthy crypto investors (including foreign nationals) raises grave constitutional concerns. I urge Congress to act immediately by: 1. Launching a full investigation into the Trump crypto gala, White House visit, and all financial transactions tied to the $TRUMP token. 2. Subpoenaing records related to guest lists, travel logistics (including Marine One), and Trump’s financial disclosures. 3. Investigating potential violations of the Emoluments Clause, campaign finance laws, federal crypto regulations, and national security protocols. 4. Passing legislation that bars any president from using the White House, presidential aircraft, or national symbols for personal financial gain. White House access should not be a perk for crypto investors. The presidency should not be a storefront for grift. And no American — regardless of political party — should accept this as the new normal.
