My husband and I are both public servants- myself at the state level, while my husband works as a DOD air traffic controller. We are struggling and the shutdown is impacting our lives in ways that feel extremely unfair and unjust, especially as I watched my husband go to work each morning to tell planes where to fly, only to come home each night unpaid. And even so, I am begging you to not in the shut down by caving to the Republican demands at a clean bill passing. The bill they have proposed is a true abomination and goes against the very ethics of public service. I think that the nation showed last night at the polls that Americans are fed up with Republican policies and Wisconsin also showed that last April in the Supreme Court election. Please continue to hold Strong and uphold the ideals of Wisconsinites and public servants everywhere. We obviously hope that my husband will be paid and that our children will not face a holiday impacted by the greed of Republicans in Congress. But we also believe our children and the children of America deserve better than a government run in the way that the proposed Republican budget would require. Thank you for your tireless efforts and your public service. I am proud to be represented by you.
