Reject discriminatory "Natural Family Month" bill - uplift family diversity
To: Sen. Cirino, Rep. Troy, Gov. DeWine
From: A constituent in Willoughby, OH
May 20
This proposed "Natural Family Month" legislation is deeply concerning as it promotes a narrow and exclusionary definition of family. By privileging only heterosexual, monogamous couples with children, it dismisses the validity and worth of LGBTQ families, single parents, adoptive families, and various other family structures. The government should not be in the business of codifying such discriminatory ideologies into law. All families deserve equal recognition, respect, and support regardless of their composition. Promoting higher birth rates through exclusive messaging devalues the many ways families can be formed through love. I urge you to reject this misguided bill and instead champion policies that uplift the diversity of families in our communities.
