I am extremely unhappy to hear about the South Carolina House Republicans advancing efforts to redraw the state’s congressional map. This would target the state's lone Democratic district (District 6) held by Rep. Jim Clyburn. This is an obvious effort to disenfranchise voters and to subvert voters' rights to have equal representation under the law. When Democratic districts are diluted to insure that a certain voter base can not choose their representation, Republicans are rigging the system in your favor. This shows a complete lack of integrity and a willingness to cheat instead of building a platform that represents constituents. Please veto any efforts that come across your desk to redistricting SC. Don't be party to taking away SC citizens' right to choose their representation and have their vote count.
