Oppose the SAVE America Act's Immediate Implementation

To: Dir. Cox

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

March 19

Vote no on the SAVE America Act. This bill violates our constitutional right to a secret ballot by forcing voters to include a copy of their ID with mail-in ballots. That's not election security. That's government overreach. Utah already requires voter ID and proof of citizenship to vote. We don't allow ballot harvesting. We have strong signature verification. Our system works. Yet this bill would blow it up overnight, taking effect immediately in the middle of an election year. Even Utah's Republican Lt. Gov. Deidre Henderson says it's "impossible to implement" without disenfranchising voters. The Constitution guarantees us the right to vote in secret. The SAVE America Act strips that away. If you care about protecting constitutional rights, you'll oppose this bill. States need time to adapt to new requirements without forcing citizens to choose between their privacy and their vote. This isn't about election integrity. It's about creating chaos that will prevent eligible voters from participating. Stop this bill before it violates the rights of millions of Americans who vote by mail.
