Taxpayer Dollars. Missing Body Cameras. Dead Americans. Where Is the Accountability? As your constituent, I am demanding immediate congressional oversight and accountability regarding the escalating use of force by federal immigration agents and the continued failure to deploy body-worn cameras despite Congress appropriating $20 million for their procurement, deployment, and operation. After multiple fatal ICE shootings involving agents who were not wearing body cameras, the public is once again being asked to rely solely on the government’s version of events. That is unacceptable. Transparency and accountability are fundamental to the rule of law. Congress must immediately: Investigate how the $20 million appropriated for ICE body cameras has been spent. Demand a full accounting from former DHS Secretary Kristi Noem, current DHS leadership, Secretary Markwayne Mullin, ICE leadership, and every official responsible for implementing this program. Hold public oversight hearings into the delayed deployment of body cameras. Require body cameras for all ICE enforcement operations nationwide. Preserve all evidence related to recent shootings, including dispatch logs, surveillance footage, communications, and witness statements. Ensure that any agent or official who violated federal law or constitutional rights is investigated by independent authorities and, where the evidence supports it, prosecuted. No one is above the law. Federal officers who unlawfully kill, assault, abduct, or violate the constitutional rights of people must be held to the same legal standards as everyone else. Public trust cannot exist without transparency and accountability. Congress must stop enabling secrecy and demand answers now. The American people deserve lawful policing—not unaccountable force carried out without independent evidence. Please tell me what actions you will take to restore accountability, protect constitutional rights, and ensure Congress exercises meaningful oversight over DHS and ICE. Thank you.
