Join California's Lawsuit to Defend Mail Voting Rights

To: Sen. Plumb, Rep. Dailey-Provost, Gov. Cox

From: A constituent in Salt Lake City, UT

August 25

Join California as a co-plaintiff in the legal challenge against Trump's executive order targeting mail-in voting. With midterm ballots weeks away from reaching voters, there is no time to wait. This fight is happening now, and your voice needs to be part of it. About 80% of California voters cast their ballots by mail in 2024. These proposed federal rules — dictating ballot envelopes, voter lists, and how mail ballots are processed — are a direct attack on California's constitutional authority to run its own elections. The Supreme Court's 6-3 decision lifting the lower-court injunction was not a ruling on the merits. Attorney General Rob Bonta has made clear this fight is far from over, and the state needs every ally it can get. Washington does not get to rewrite how California runs its elections. Stand with Governor Newsom, stand with AG Bonta, and stand with the millions of Californians who depend on mail voting. Get on the right side of this lawsuit.
