Contrary to prior reports, the exemptions to protect humanitarian work were not added! Under this bill, a church official sheltering an undocumented person the pastor could go to jail for 2+ years, pay a large fine, and the church could be forced to forfeit it's building. Churches and other places for worship have always been considered a place of sanctuary as they should be considered places of redemption and peace. Protect the church from government hardship.
