No Funding ICE Without Specific Rules and Limitations

To: Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis

From: A verified voter in Charlotte, NC

January 29

As your constituent and a NC voter, I’m writing to urge you to oppose any further funding for ICE until there are binding, enforceable reforms that end abuses, ensure accountability, and protect due process. Congress must use the power of the purse to force real accountability, not cosmetic changes.” The killings of Renee Good and Alex Pretti are part of a broader pattern of unchecked violence, impunity, and abuse carried out by federal immigration enforcement agencies against our communities. Vote NO on funding for the Department of Homeland Security UNLESS major reforms and accountability are in place! In addition, the Senate must prohibit this president from using ICE as a voter suppression tool, to include a prohibition on ICE agents being near polling places in the appropriations bill. It is imperative to protect our free and fair elections. Thank you.
