I wrote a few days ago when there was news that ICE had illegally taken a 5-year-old kid from Minnesota. I was disgusted then and am revolted now to read that they have now taken a 2-year-old little girl, used force to break into their vehicle despite having no warrant and then flew her to Texas despite a federal judge demanding that they keep her in Minnesota. They are deliberately acting outside of the law, at the expense of real people. I haven't always supported calls to defund ICE, as I know that there are some important functions in customs enforcement that have to be done. But ICE is no longer an agency that is acting inside the law in the interest of the people. ICE under this Administration is not a democratic executive agency, but a paramilitary group completely outside of the law and acting only in the personal interest of figures in the administration. That's why I'm asking you to defund and disband this agency. The important roles that need to be continued can be transferred somewhere else, but this dangerous paramilitary organization needs to be shut down. And now.
