Congress must eliminate all funding for Immigration and Customs Enforcement and close every immigration detention center.
Detention causes harm. People are held without adequate due process. Families are separated. Medical neglect persists. Deaths in custody continue. Taxpayer dollars should not sustain a system that inflicts suffering and operates with limited accountability.
Immigration enforcement does not require mass detention. Community based approaches are humane, effective, and fiscally responsible. They respect constitutional principles and human dignity while ensuring compliance with immigration proceedings.
You have the authority to act through the appropriations process. Use that authority. Stop funding ICE. Order the closure of detention centers. Move federal policy toward justice, transparency, and care.
