ur nation is at a turning point. The very foundations of American democracy—free and fair elections, constitutional checks and balances, and the protection of diverse thought—are being eroded before our eyes. We are witnessing an alarming rise in christo-fascist authoritarianism, paired with state-sanctioned efforts to suppress dissent, dismantle rights, and distort truth.
The demonization of independent thought, the normalization of extremist rhetoric, and the silencing of marginalized voices are not signs of strength—they are the warning signs of collapse. If Congress does not act, we risk becoming the axis of global instability, not its ally. The United States cannot be a leader abroad while descending into tyranny at home.
We must confront the real consequences of inaction: creeping election interference, judicial overreach, legislative gridlock, and an increasingly militarized response to civilian dissent. Conversations like the one recently referenced by Senator McConnell—hinting at the normalization of child exploitation under the guise of “policy” or “values”—are unconscionable. They reflect a warped moral framework that serves oligarchy, not people.
We are also facing an unprecedented concentration of wealth and power, while millions of Americans suffer from poverty, violence, and lack of access to health care, housing, and education. This is not governance. This is abandonment.
Now is the time to defend the spirit of the Constitution—not in word, but in action. Applaud and amplify the efforts of those working for justice, transparency, and accountability. Protect voting rights. Hold those in power accountable—regardless of party. Reject authoritarianism in all its forms.
You represent millions of Americans who are tired, angry, and afraid—but who have not given up. Prove that democracy still has a pulse.
