Deep Disappointment in Your Support of the So-Called “Big Beautiful Bill”
To: Rep. Edwards
From: A constituent in Asheville, NC
July 5, 2025
I am writing to express my deep disappointment and frustration with your decision to support the so-called “Big Beautiful Bill.”
This bill is not beautiful—it is harmful. It makes life harder for the poorest and most vulnerable people in our communities, guts education funding, and delivers gifts to the gun lobby at the expense of public safety. There is nothing admirable or compassionate about any of that.
You were not elected to serve special interests or punch down on working families. Yet that’s exactly what this bill represents.
Frankly, I’ve never been more energized for an election than I am right now—because I look forward to seeing you voted out of office. Your seat exists because of gerrymandering, not because you represent the will or values of the majority in this district. That tide is turning.
North Carolina deserves leadership that prioritizes people over politics. This vote made it clear you’re not up for the job.
