I am writing to express my deep dismay that you have proposed deep cuts to the ECEAP program. So many of our low income families rely on this program for their children in order to work and for their children to be developmentally ready for kindergarten. It seems that when there is a budget to be balanced it’s always the poorest and the most needy who are hurt the most by these budget cuts. Let’s tax the corporations more appropriately, and close the loopholes that keep their revenue from funding our societal needs. I very much oppose these cuts and hope you will find a better, more sustainable way to balance our budget.
