Stop the dismantling of the Department of Education

To: Sen. Risch, Rep. Fulcher, Sen. Crapo

From: A constituent in Coeur D Alene, ID

February 8

Restricting educational resources and banning certain books from school libraries is deeply concerning. Removing access to historical perspectives and contributions of diverse groups creates an incomplete and skewed understanding of our nation's past. We should embrace the richness of varying narratives that shape the American story. Censoring books denies students a comprehensive education and undermines principles of academic freedom. I urge you to reconsider this misguided policy and instead cultivate an environment that promotes open inquiry, critical thinking, and respect for all people's experiences. Our children deserve access to knowledge that reflects the full scope of our shared heritage.
