This is not a request for “election security.” This is a coordinated, dangerous attempt by the Trump administration to hijack our voting systems under the guise of oversight. Demanding access to state voter rolls and voting machines — especially in states like Colorado, where elections are already among the most secure and transparent in the country — is nothing more than a power grab.
This is the same administration that tried to overturn a democratic election, incited an insurrection, and continues to spread lies about voter fraud that have been debunked time and time again. Now they want unprecedented access to the very machinery of our democracy? Absolutely not.
State and local officials are rightly sounding the alarm about the security risks this poses — yet the federal government is threatening them into compliance. Enough. These authoritarian tactics must be met with full resistance.
I demand that you:
• Publicly and unequivocally oppose any federal overreach into state-run elections.
• Introduce or support legislation that protects voter data and prohibits politically motivated federal interference.
• Hold hearings to expose this abuse of power and protect whistleblowers in state election offices.
We are not going to “compromise” our democracy to appease a twice-impeached autocrat and his cronies. This is a red line. Start acting like it. Fight back — visibly, vocally, and immediately.
