Oppose Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries as Democratic Leadership
To: Sen. Booker, Sen. Kim, Rep. Mejia
From: A constituent in Maplewood, NJ
November 5
Oppose Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries as Democratic party leaders. Both have taken significant money from corporate donors and AIPAC, and neither supports Medicare for All or a serious rethink of U.S. aid to Israel. That is not the platform that brought voters to the polls. That is the platform of the donor class.
Progressive candidates just won real ground by running on bold, people-first policies. Handing leadership back to the same figures who have resisted those policies sends a clear message to voters that their energy and their votes don't actually change anything. Schumer and Jeffries do not reflect where the base of this party is, and keeping them in place will cost Democrats in 2028.
I want to see leaders like Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Jamie Raskin, or Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in these roles. They have the trust of the voters who showed up. Step up and support new leadership that will fight for working people, not for corporate interests.
