I am writing to voice my deep concerns regarding the recent policies targeting transgender individuals, particularly youth. The administration's actions to restrict access to gender-affirming care and support for transgender students are highly troubling and go against mainstream medical guidance. Gender-affirming care has been shown to significantly improve mental health outcomes and overall well-being for transgender youth. Denying this vital care puts vulnerable young people at increased risk of depression, anxiety, and suicidal ideation. Similarly, preventing schools from creating inclusive environments and respecting students' identities breeds stigma and discrimination. Transgender youth deserve the same opportunities to learn, grow, and thrive as their peers. I urge you to stand up for their rights and well-being by opposing these harmful policies. Every young person should feel safe, supported, and empowered to be their authentic self. Please prioritize the health and dignity of our transgender youth over ideology.
