Protect FEMA funding

To: Sen. Budd, Sen. Tillis, Rep. Rouzer

In light of hurricane season starting just 2 days ago, I am pleading that you standup for your constituents by protecting FEMA. This department plays a crucial role in coordinating disaster response and recovery efforts across the nation. Its existence ensures direct response to disasters and without Federal aid, these local and state governments are at risk of going bankrupt when a natural disaster strikes. We no longer have the ability to think “if” for natural disasters. It’s now a matter of when. Climate change has seen to that.
Without a properly functioning program, states and local governments will struggle to handle large-scale disasters, which will see to uneven recovery efforts of infrastructure and essential services. Please see to it that FEMA remains a healthy and functional department in our country. Thank you.
