Elon Musk & DOGE Access to My Private Information

To: Sen. Daines, Sen. Sheehy, Rep. Zinke

From: A constituent in Whitefish, MT

February 18

I hope this message finds you well. I am reaching out with a pressing concern about the potential access that private individuals, including Elon Musk and the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), may have to sensitive personal information such as my tax returns, Social Security number, and bank account details. My primary question is: do Elon Musk and DOGE, or any other private parties, have the ability to access this kind of personal data without my knowledge or consent? I am deeply troubled by the possibility that they could gain access to my financial records, and I am unsure how or why this would be allowed to happen. If such access is possible, it raises serious concerns about the adequacy of current privacy protections and whether this constitutes a breach of my personal information. Could you please provide clarity on whether individuals like Musk or DOGE have any legitimate access to this data? If this is a privacy violation, I would like to understand what steps are being taken to prevent such access in the future. I appreciate your attention to this matter and look forward to your response.
