Dear Representative Levin, I am writing to express my deep outrage and horror at Robert F. Kennedy Jr.'s proposal to create a national registry to track autistic individuals. This grotesque idea is not only an egregious violation of civil liberties and medical privacy, it echoes the darkest chapters of authoritarian history. The very notion of compiling lists of neurodivergent people is reminiscent of fascist regimes that targeted vulnerable populations for surveillance, discrimination, and worse. We must not mince words: this is a fascist proposal rooted in fear, pseudoscience, and ableism. Such a registry would not serve the needs of the autistic community—it would endanger them.
