Stop Persecuting Trans People!

To: Asm. Johnson, Sen. Seyarto

From: A verified voter in Corona, CA

March 3

Thank you for posting this. I just sent my comment to Leticia Castillo. Because she’s a Republican and I assume she doesn’t really care about the impact on trans people, I focused on the harmful effects to cisgender women and girls: “Please vote no on AB1998, regarding bathroom use according to sex at birth. Policies like this cause women to be policed, harassed, and accused of being transgender if their hair is short or their body isn’t curvy, or whatever causes anyone around them to perceive them as not feminine enough to use a women’s restroom. There is no epidemic of violence in public restrooms. This bill is unnecessary, and will likely be harmful to women. Let people use the restroom and go about their daily lives without anybody wanting to check their genitals or accuse them of being transgender.”
