It is no wonder that Republicans choose time and again to destroy funding for education. In this current administration, Trump is actively trying to get rid of The Department of Education with the help of Linda McMahon. You stand by and do noting because you know full well that an uneducated populous is significantly more likely to vote for you. When people lack education, you can spin lies and get them to vote against their own best interest because they don't see your lies for what they are. Those of us who know our history can easily spot the patterns of the Republican party. You villainize your opposition, calling them socialists or communists. This trick is old and dates back to reconstruction where White people were angry that their tax money would ultimately help Black people. The White people didn't want Black people benefiting from roads and schools that land owners taxes paid for. They claimed this would be a distribution of wealth and therefore it was Socialism. That was a lie used to cover for blatant racism, and it's still being peddle today. We saw the same patterns pop up during the Civil Rights era. Republicans shifted from Eisenhower's amazing and popular platform, to a racist platform that was intent on suppressing Black peoples' right to vote, and their rights to live in our country with equality. When Republicans lost that fight, they pivoted and found other ways to bake racism into our laws and society. They introduced red lining and other harmful policies that were racism wrapped into a neat package. These policies made a lating impression and still affect people of color to this day. When Obama became president, the Republican party went into a tailspin. Trump's presidency with his openly racist and xenophobic platform were a direct result of Obama's wins. So you see, when we know our history, it isn't hard to see that this political platform never truly changes. It just morphs into each new generation and peddle the same hate and lies each time. The current Republican party has nothing to offer every day Americans, so you try to distract us from that truth with lies and hate. If you can get uneducated people to fear the other, you can rob them blind and get their vote at the same time. Who loses with the Republican party? Blue collar workers, the middle class, farmers, people living in poverty, the disabled, peopleof color, etc.. We lose affordable health care and protections from the federal agencies that were put in place to protect our rights. The EPA gets gutted and we suffer the consequences of poor water quality, poor air quality, and exposure to toxic chemicals that are in our soil, our food, and our household products. Workers rights are gutted and unions lose collective bargaining power. Access to SNAP, Social Security Disability, and Medicaid plummet. Social Security becomes insolvent because Republicans give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations instead of making them pay their fair share. Schools lose funding and the ability to provide the quality education everyday students need, much less the specialized teachers needed for students with disabilities. The list goes on, but the point is this: -WE SEE YOU- We see you, the Republican party, for who you are. You use racism and xenophobia to distract us while enacting agendas that negatively impact 99% of Americans, while giving the 1% (billionaires and massive corporations) tax cuts and government contracts. And don't think we don't know you pad your own pockets along the way. You are not patriotic. You are not for the people. You are traitors to our country. You betray everyday Americans at every turn. You are willing to undermine our democracy if it gets you favor with Trump, gets you elected again, or enriches your portfolio. YOU ARE A DISGRACE. YOU ARE UNFIT FOR OFFICE. WE WILL SHOW UP IN NOVEMBER TO VOTE.
