Revoke Musk's access to federal payment systems immediately

To: Sen. Scott, Rep. Buchanan, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Bradenton, FL

February 5

I urge you to remove Elon Musk and his "Department of Government Efficiency" team's access to the federal payment system immediately. Allowing a private individual with substantial conflicts of interest to have any involvement in controlling the flow of taxpayer funds is an unacceptable risk to the integrity of our government's finances. The payments system handles trillions of dollars and is critical infrastructure that must be safeguarded from potential abuse or manipulation. The Treasury Department's role is to responsibly manage the government's finances on behalf of the American people, not hand over sensitive data and operations to Elon Musk's private agenda. His conflicts of interest as a businessman are glaring, and his lack of accountability to the public raises alarming possibilities of misuse of funds, data breaches, or disruptions to authorized payments. Claims of promoting "efficiency" cannot justify this unprecedented breach of public trust. Congress must decisively protect the sanctity of the payment systems from private intrusion. I request you take immediate action to revoke all access Musk's team has and prevent any future attempts to compromise this vital government function. The risks of allowing this situation to continue are far too great to ignore. Safeguarding taxpayer dollars and our democratic institutions is paramount.
