I’m writing about the damage doge and this administration is doing and has done to our country as a whole, and harm done to the people of our country, harm to our civil servants, and what appear so be irreparable damage to our national reputation alongside our completely preventable soon-to-be-recession. I’m writing to hold you accountable as a representative of Ohioans. I am not an expert, but i know something wrong when i see it, and i know you can see it too. The collective harm being done right now is unimaginable in magnitude. The loss of global confidence in an entire country in less than 6 months, is unseen in modern history. I’ve called, I’ve written, and I’ve not seen any of my representatives seem to actually care about what is happening besides getting a form template letter maybe a month after my writing. When i actually talk to someone, they pretend they haven’t seen the news and can’t comment on anything. I want you to ask yourself, are you doing right by your constituents? or your children? Your grandchildren? Is their world going to be better because of what is happening now? Is their dismantling of the CDC and Consumer protections going to make it a safe world for them to be able to confidently buy or eat a safe meal without worrying about getting sick with unregulated add ins? Is dismantling the DOE going to give them good and high quality education? With unpredictable weather, are they going to have enough of a weather forecast to prepare or (God forbid) recover from a natural disaster with NOAA, NWS, and FEMA being dismantled? If they want to send a letter, with the post office being dismantled for private companies? So many things are happening now that i never thought i would see in my lifetime. And I’ve lived through too many once-in-a-lifetime scenarios to discount a foreseeable an easily avoidable disaster as impossible. We have collective trauma happening right now for our people. It’s your job to stand up and say it’s enough and to represent the people that do not have a voice in the rooms where these decisions are being made. Say something. Publicly. These things will impact generations beyond yourself. Do right by our collective future.
