I’m writing because I know that Senator Tim Kaine is forcing a vote this week on a War Powers resolution to prevent further military operations in Venezuela. I want the Congressmember to support a similar resolution in the House. This weekend’s attacks were illegal and Congress’s unwillingness to intervene is shocking. In the absence of meaningful congressional oversight, the U.S. risks creating a dangerous precedent in which military might—not a sovereign nation’s own people—determine who has power. It is time for Congress to reassert its power and stop this lawless president! Thanks.
