I am writing to you today to express in the strongest possible terms my disappointment and disgust with the way our president's meeting with Ukraine's president went yesterday. It is unconsciobable that our president expected Mr. Zelensky to simply "kiss the ring," hand over everything he had available, and denigrate himself and his nation for a country whose officials have lied openly and repeatedly about the circumstances and the very origins of this war of Russian aggression. Vance went so far as to recommend that Zelensky thank Trump for his "leadership," a ridiculous request that should rightly be met with the question: what leadership? Zelensky has been fighting a war against a vastly more powerful adversary for just over three years. Trump has been president for a month, and has done nothing at all to bring the war in Ukraine to a swift and just closure. So I ask again: What leadership, exactly? Party affiliations aside, I urge you in the strongest possible terms to take action and push back against President Trump's ridiculous betrayal of our ally, Ukraine. Please consider this a vote for any and every action that can now be taken by Congress to provide aide to Ukraine in this ongoing war.
