Dear Senators and Representatives,
When did the Arizona State Legislature become a clearinghouse for national political talking points instead of a governing body for the people of Arizona?
From federal policy deferrals down to local legislative votes, our state leadership is failing us. Lawmakers like Representative Julie Willoughby in Legislative District 13 continue to act as rubber stamps for party-line directives—prioritizing national loyalty tests and partisan theater over the actual, pressuring needs of Arizona families, working communities, and local infrastructure.
Instead of fighting for independent Arizona solutions, state lawmakers have allowed out-of-state interests and national political agendas to dictate how our state is run. Whether it is turning a blind eye to federal mismanagement, failing to protect local resources, or repeatedly voting down commonsense state-level oversight, this total lack of independence is a betrayal of the oath to serve Arizonans.
We do not elect state representatives to function as echo chambers for federal platforms or party bosses. We elect them to show independent spine, protect Arizona’s autonomy, and deliver tangible results for our communities.
It is time to end the rubber-stamping:
Demand Independent Governance: Hold state representatives accountable when they vote on party loyalty rather than constituent impact.
Focus on Arizona First: Reject out-of-state legislative templates and focus on the direct economic, educational, and community needs of our state.
Expose Blind Alignment: Challenge lawmakers who treat local legislative seats as mere launching pads or megaphone extensions for national political rhetoric.
Arizonans deserve leaders who actually stand up for our state, not cowards who follow orders from national party leaders while ignoring the people who live here.
Sincerely,
