As a healthcare provider in the great state of NC, I’m writing to ask for your support to make insulin more affordable. Millions of Americans with diabetes rely on insulin to stay alive, yet 1 in 6 people who need it struggle to afford it. Too many individuals and families are forced to make impossible choices between paying for insulin and covering basic life essentials like food or rent, something no one should have to face.
The bipartisan INSULIN Act is a critical step toward easing this burden by helping to make insulin more affordable and accessible for those who need it most. By limiting cost sharing to $35 a month for insulin for individuals’ commercial health insurance, like Congress did for Medicare, it would make insulin affordable for individuals who pay for their health coverage. The INSULIN Act would ensure healthcare savings are not kept by drug middleman or pharmacy benefit managers, but rather by patients. The bill would bring real economic relief to individuals and families across the country.
I respectfully urge you to support and co-sponsor the INSULIN Act and support its enactment in Congress. Thank you for your time and your commitment to your constituents.
