Protect the USPS

To: Sen. Moody, Rep. Webster, Sen. Scott

From: A constituent in Apopka, FL

February 21

The U.S. Postal Service (USPS) was established by Benjamin Franklin in 1775 when the Second Continental Congress appointed him as the first Postmaster General. The modern USPS, an independent agency, was officially created by the Postal Reorganization Act of 1970, signed into law by President Richard Nixon, transitioning it from the Post Office Department into a self-sustaining entity. Now, the USPS is preparing to push back as Trump moves to dissolve its leadership and bring the independent agency under his administration’s control. Leaders, this cannot be allowed—protecting the USPS is the only open as it’s an essential part of our country. Your constituents in rural areas will be harmed. Step up and DO SOMETHING. What actionable items will you take to prevent this from happening?
