I am writing to urge you to forcefully reject any attempt to pass the SAVE America Act, whether as standalone legislation or backdoored into budget reconciliation through H. Con. Res. 113.
The Senate has already made it clear that sweeping voting restrictions lack the support to become law on their own merits. Trying to slide a non-starter policy rider into a must-pass spending bill is a procedural trick that wastes taxpayer time, delays critical legislation, and bypasses meaningful debate.
Beyond the political gamesmanship, this policy is disastrous for real voters. Requiring strict, in-person documentary proof of citizenship to register or update voter information upends online and mail-in registration, forcing everyday Americans into long lines at local election offices.
