Hold This Administration Accountable – Vote Against the Budget
To: Sen. Murkowski, Sen. Sullivan
From: A verified voter in Anchorage, AK
March 14
I am urging you to take a stand against this administration’s dangerous overreach. Many of us who have supported conservative principles in the past do not support the authoritarian actions currently unfolding under Trump and Musk. This budget gives them unchecked power to dismantle critical government functions while continuing their assault on democratic institutions.
The House-passed budget maintains spending levels but increases military funding while cutting essential services. Yet, even with this funding, Trump and Musk have already shuttered or crippled agencies like USAID, the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau, and the Environmental Protection Agency—ignoring the laws set by Congress. Their blatant disregard for the Constitution and the role of the legislative branch cannot go unchallenged.
Why should Congress hand them a blank check when they refuse to uphold the responsibilities of governing? Why should they be allowed to pick and choose which parts of government to fund while undermining the very institutions meant to serve the American people? This is not responsible leadership—it’s an erosion of our democratic system.
I urge you to vote against this budget and send a clear message: Congress controls the power of the purse, not the executive branch. Do not enable Trump and Musk to continue their reckless, unconstitutional dismantling of our government. Stand up for the rule of law and for the people of Alaska and America.
