Oppose repealing National Voter Registration Act - Protect voting rights

To: Sen. Scott, Sen. Moody

From: A constituent in Pensacola, FL

February 4, 2025

I urge you to oppose H.R. 55, the bill to repeal the National Voter Registration Act of 1993. This misguided legislation would strip away critical protections that safeguard the fundamental right to vote for millions of Americans. The National Voter Registration Act has played a vital role in expanding access to voter registration opportunities and preventing discriminatory practices that disenfranchise eligible voters. Repealing it would undermine the integrity of our elections and deal a serious blow to participatory democracy. We must uphold and strengthen laws that make it easier for all eligible citizens to exercise their constitutional right to vote, not dismantle them. I implore you to defend voting rights and reject this damaging effort to roll back hard-won voting protections.
