Vote NO on HB 937!

To: Sen. Cierpiot

From: A verified voter in Lees Summit, MO

April 28

I’m writing as your constituent to urge you to vote NO on H.B. 937, dangerous legislation that was recently passed by the Missouri House of Representatives. This bill would adopt the discredited International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) definition of antisemitism into codes of conduct for public universities and secondary schools across Missouri. This bill is a tool of censorship and would do nothing to keep the Jewish people safe or combat antisemitism. The IHRA definition of antisemitism conflates criticism of the state of Israel with antisemitism, and would thus be used to silence Palestinians and anyone calling for Palestinian rights, including Jewish people. The IHRA definition of antisemitism aims to shield the Israeli government from accountability for grave human rights abuses. It wrongly isolates antisemitism from other forms of oppression, undermining our ability to combat antisemitism and all forms of bigotry. Stand against genocide, vote NO on HB 937!
